Enrollment in a Master's program with Dutch prior education

The information on this webpage applies to students who wish to apply for a Master's program at Tilburg University on the basis of a diploma from a Dutch educational institution.

Please make sure to follow the correct procedure

  • Follow the steps below if you are applying with a diploma from a Dutch educational institution and:
    • are applying for a Tilburg University Master's program for the first time.
    • want to continue following the same Master's program after a study break.
    • want to take a new Master's program in addition to your current Master's program.
  • If you want to apply on the basis of a diploma from a non-Dutch educational institution (including institutions in Belgium or the Dutch Antilles), you must follow the international application procedure.
  • If you want to continue your current Master's program in the upcoming academic year, you must follow the re-enrollment procedure.

Follow the national application procedure

Step 1: Register in Studielink

All students in the Netherlands must register for the study of their choice in Studielink

  • Please check your eligibility for the Master's program(s) first. Register in Studielink for the correct program and the correct start date. There are a number of Master's programs that also start in February.
  • Enter an email address that you use regularly. Tilburg University will send you important information regarding your application via this email address.
  • On the Studielink website you will find Step-by-step plans explaining the enrollment procedure.

Register in Studielink

Step 2: Submit an application for admission

In addition to your registration in Studielink, you may also need to submit a request for admission to the Admissions Committee of the School in question.

More information about the admission requirements and how to submit a request for admission can be found at the relevant Master's program(s).

The Admissions Committee will determine whether you will be admitted based on your (completed) prior education.

If you are currently enrolled in a program at Tilburg University with which you are directly admissible, you do not have to submit a separate admission request for most programs.

Step 3: Admissions Committee’s decision

The Admissions Committee will process your request and will let you know whether you will be admitted or not.

Admission

After receiving a message that you have been admitted (possibly conditional*), you are NOT yet enrolled at the university. So, proceed to 'Step 4'.
* ‘Conditionally admitted' means that you must meet certain conditions before you are finally admitted. For example, you may still need to submit a certified copy of a diploma.

Rejection

Unfortunately, you will not be able to start with the Master's program.

Step 4: Admitted, what's next?

Congratulations on being admitted to Tilburg University, either conditionally or unconditionally!

Check the status of your enrollment in OSIRIS Student and see if there are any outstanding 'To-do' items that you still need to fulfill.

To ensure a smooth (and stress-free) start of your studies, we have prepared a timeline to give you an overview of the things you need to arrange before the start of your studies.
